DAY THREE

THE RIVER OF LIFE NEVER STOPS FLOWING, IT FLOWS THROUGH ME INTO LAVISH EXPRESSION.

I used to wonder what "the river of life" meant.  Then I researched River of Life in the Bible and was informed that it's mentioned in both the New and Old Testaments of the Bible.  Rivers represent prosperity as the river has fish that provide food for anyone who will take advantage of it.  Also, the Disciples were called "fishers of men".  So what does it mean?  I would just say the line and imagine prosperity flowing through me in lavish expression. 

When I moved to the mountains and started canoeing and rafting I thought about the above line in the prayer, as the Delaware River is always in motion and literally never stops flowing.  As we were doing a 16 mile paddle we would also see plenty of fish swimming in the river.  We also would be in awe when we saw eagles nesting on the banks of the river and Blue Heron and other birds flying near by.  Certainly rivers are giving life to all living creatures, humans, fish, birds and the vegetation that grows at the edge of the river. 

This takes me back to the beginning of the prayer: I dwell in the midst of infinite abundance". Paddling down the Delaware River while reciting the prayer created a calm and peaceful feeling inside of me.  The river is not only beautiful, but it is full of life. 

Yesterday I received an email from a sister who is in this group. Seems she found a quarter yesterday and she imagined that it was $25 as opposed to 25 cents.  That's one way to get in the flow and to jump start the Law of Attraction to bring her more.  We were advised to pick up money when we saw it on the ground and to say "thank you" for the gift.  We were also told to stay in a state of receptivity, especially during times when we're praying for abundance.  When you're saying the prayer at home, make sure that you keep your hands open, palms up.  Keeping your palms up is a physical statement that says "I am open and ready to receive my good". 

Also another sister told me she has recorded herself saying the prayer that way she can listen to it when she's in bed and in that state of grogginess between awake and asleep.  Or she can listen to it as  she's moving around in the morning getting dressed and ready to go out and start her day.
We like the idea of recording the prayer because it will be your voice, not someone else's that is programming your subconscious mind. 

THIS IS A MENTAL FAST

When you commit to refraining from negative thoughts, words or emotions you're on a mental diet or fast.  You've decided to take control of all of it and to substitute the negative for the positive.

Sometimes the ego mind, the rational mind, the conscious mind that thinks, pushes back because it doesn't like to be ignored.  So you're going to have to say "you have no power over me" or as my grandmother used to say "get thee behind me Satan".  This mental fast will work more efficiently and you will get faster results when you stick with it.  If you should slip into conversations talking about the economy and how bad it is,  simply say silently or out loud "cancel cancel", and then say a line in the prayer that makes you feel good.  This might mean that you're going to have to avoid the doom and gloomers, the news, or people who are always complaining about money.  The Truth is, the apple trees are still giving fruit cause nobody told them we're in a recession.  There is prosperity everywhere and you and I just need to believe it and know it deep down in our bones.  Thought for the day:  There is no lack or limitation to the mind of God.

Meditate tonight at 8:00pm and keep the energy flowing.  

DAY TWO

THE ABUNDANCE OF GOD IS MY INFINITE SOURCE

Some people don't like the word "God" because of previous negative experiences with people who say "God" or because they think of God as a man in the sky.  I've learned long ago that there is no man in the sky, but a force or spirit that creates everything.  That force is inside of us, it's infinite (never ending) and it is available to all of us.  This 1ine of the prayer simply says that our finances doesn't depend on any other source, not our job, not our spouse, or any other source.

When I got fired from Essence Magazine after writing for them for 25 years, it was a shock. The bad news came in a telephone call from a cold and distant woman. I immediately thought about my finances.  How was I going to pay my bills, what was I going to do about the rent.  Then I started quieting my mind which was giving me all the worst case scenarios that could happen.  I slowed down my breathing, took some long yogic breaths, put on my sneakers, picked up my hiking stick and walked to the waterfall.  While at the waterfall, watching the water gushing over the rocks, I recited the prayer.  While no immediate solutions came to mind, just saying the prayer calmed me down.  The 2nd line in the prayer, "The Abundance of God is my infinite source" took on a new meaning. I thought about Essence and immediately understood that they were not my infinite source.  Jobs come and go and sometimes the circumstances around being fired is not fair.  I decided that I was not going to create a story of victimization, but instead was going to fully realize that God was my infinite source.  It was a battle to keep my mind focused on Truth for the following days.  But I kept saying the prayer every time I thought about my money and the upcoming rent.  Three days in, I walked to my mailbox and found a letter from an angel woman who has once attended my classes in the city.  She wrote that while meditating she got the message to send me money.  There were 3 money orders in the letter, and they added up to the amount that I would ordinarily receive from Essence.  I walked home saying "thank you", "thank you", "thank you".  For some reason the woman who sent the money had been impressed by me and because she tunes into her higher self, she listened to the message she received during meditation. 

BACK STORY

I began to think about my money angel, and remembered an incident when she first joined my class. She had paid for the beginner's class and for the second class, but I decided to give the 2nd class for free.  I decided to give back the money that she had originally sent to me and explained to her that since I was giving the 2nd class for free, she had over paid.  I remember how she looked at me as I handed her the money. She had a Light around her and a twinkle in her eyes. She said to me "I'm always in good relationship with my money".  And I thought to myself that I had to also be in good relationship with my money, that keeping her money would be like cheating

her. 

STAY IN ALIGNMENT WITH SOURCE

Some of us are starting businesses, some of us are working for ourselves, and we always have to keep in mind to give good service for a reasonable fee.  We don't have to cheat anyone in order to be successful.  When we are in alignment or good relationship with our money there's no need to scheme or create devious means to be financially successful.  Spiritual Success means living in accordance with spiritual law.  We must be in integrity with our thoughts, our words and our deeds.

DAY ONE - BALANCING OUR FINANCES

Family, we're starting off at the beginning...first line in the money prayer is:

I DWELL IN THE MIDST OF INFINITE ABUNDANCE.

Contemplate the truth of that statement all day long.  We do live in an abundant universe and on an abundant earth.  I think about the abundance of this earth every year this time as the leaves start to fall.  The workers in my community come out every other day with their leaf blowers to blow these little gifts of beauty away from the walks.  When I was living in Queens my next door neighbor used to fuss every time October rolled around because he had to sweep the leaves off the sidewalk.  The leaves were coming from a tree on my property and he would try to convince me to have the tree removed.  At the time I was being mentored by an organic farmer who came to visit me one day.  He stopped, looked at the leaves, smiled and said "we live in an abundant universe".  He also asked me "can I have some of those leaves?"  Of course I gladly said "yes" and went inside to get a huge garbage bag to hold the leaves.  The farmer told me that he would use the leaves to cover the soil that we had planted on that summer.  He further explained how the leaves would bio degrade during the winter and then magically turn into rich soil in the spring.  It seems there's no waste in nature and everything has a purpose.  What my neighbor considered to be a problem, a bother, turned out to be a gift to my mentor and the other farmers in the gardens.

Now when I open my door and see the many leaves on the ground I think to myself "I dwell in the midst of infinite abundance".  I've also convinced the leaf blowing workers to leave some of the leaves at the base of the pine tree in front of my house.  Remembering the lessons from my mentor, I explained to them that the leaves would turn into rich soil in the spring and strengthen the roots of the  pine tree. 

If you're fortunate enough to live in a natural setting, or near a park, notice the beautiful leaves as they turn colors and drop to the ground.  There is no lack or limitation to the mind of God which is inside of us and around us.  Thought for Day One:  I give thanks for the abundance of planet earth and for the privilege of living here.  Happy New Moon in Libra!
